For estate agencies and property managers
Refer renovation work without putting your own name at risk.
When a buyer, seller or tenant needs building work, the recommendation reflects on you. BuildTrusted gives you a reviewed route to construction professionals, with a named contact and an honest account of what has actually been checked.
Why referrals are uncomfortable
Agencies and property managers are asked for a builder constantly: a survey report with defects, a kitchen before completion, maintenance a tenant is waiting on.
Passing on a name is a reputational decision made with incomplete information. If the work goes badly, the client remembers who recommended it.
How a referral works
- 1
Send the request
You or your client describe the work, the property, the location and the timing. One description, no repeated phone calls.
- 2
A person reviews it
BuildTrusted decides what kind of professional the job actually needs before contacting anyone.
- 3
Suitable professionals are invited
Selection is based on trade, service region, availability and reviewed information — never on who paid for the position.
- 4
You stay informed
You keep a named contact at BuildTrusted and know whether the introduction went ahead, without having to chase it.
What this is suited to
- Defects found in a building survey before transfer
- Renovation quoted before or shortly after purchase
- Maintenance and repairs on managed rental property
- Bathroom, kitchen and interior renovation
- Plastering, painting and finishing work
- Property being prepared for sale or letting
What BuildTrusted does not ask of you
No exclusivity, no listing fee and no commitment to a volume of referrals. You can refer one project and never another.
BuildTrusted does not currently operate a referral commission scheme. If that ever changes it will be stated openly here first, not agreed quietly per deal.
Your client remains your client. BuildTrusted does not market other services to them off the back of a referral.
The limits, stated plainly
BuildTrusted does not guarantee workmanship, price, timing or outcome, and is not a party to the agreement between your client and the professional.
Coverage depends on the professionals available for a trade and region during the pilot, so a suitable introduction cannot be promised for every request.
Direct answers
Does it cost an estate agency anything to refer work?
- No. Referring a project is free, and there is no listing fee, subscription or exclusivity requirement.
Is there a referral commission?
- No. BuildTrusted does not operate a referral commission scheme during the pilot, and any future change would be published here before it applied.
What happens to the client’s details?
- They stay private and are shared with a professional only once both sides agree to an introduction.
